Fees & Fundraising

FEES

Annual membership of $25 is paid to Girl Scouts Greater Los Angeles when you register your girl scout each year. This money does NOT go towards the individual troop funds.

Individual Troop funds are monetized by a one-time startup fee which is paid to the Troop Treasurer every month. This money pays for troop activities and expenses for badge earning and field trips. You can pay by check made to Girl Scouts Troop 9705 or via Venmo @troop9705.

Returning Troop Member Fee : $200

New Member Fee: $300

In addition to startup fees, another way our troop earns money for our activities and expenses is through fundraising.

FUNDRAISING

There are two main fundraisers to participate in to earn funds for our troop. The Fall Product Program and the Cookie Product Program. The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the country. The money earned during these fundraisers goes into the troop fund, it does not go to the individual girl. Money earned is raised for the troop as a whole. Whether a girl sells 20 boxes or 20,000 boxes of cookies, all girls share equally in determining how troop funds are spent and are eligible to participate in the activities.

As girls get older they can begin to handle troop funds (with adult guidance), by participating in budget planning, estimating costs of activities, managing the bank account.
